FAQ
Questions? We’ve got answers.
What is EC Database?
EC Database is a searchable database of verified college applicant profiles built from public YouTube videos. Students share their stats and extracurriculars on camera — we extract, structure, and verify that information so you can search and compare real examples.
How do you verify the information?
We extract claims from the video transcript, then search for public evidence — LinkedIn profiles, award pages, research publications, news articles, school pages. Each verified claim gets a source link. Claims we can't verify are still included but marked without a link.
Is EC Database free?
Yes, browsing profiles is free. We may add premium features in the future, but the core database will remain openly accessible.
How is this different from College Confidential or Reddit threads?
Those are self-reported and unverified. EC Database is structured, searchable, and each claim is backed by a public source link where possible. You can filter by school, major, and activity type instead of reading through threads.
