Saurav Ghosal

Selected for FSU's six-week residential Young Scholars Program for high-achieving STEM students; took college-credit courses in Python, C++, biology, and physics, and completed an original research project applying density functional theory to visualize molecules at their lowest-energy states, spanning computational chemistry and materials science

Founded and captained the school's first Science Olympiad team in senior year; recruited and assigned members to events, ran all team meetings, and managed operations; the team placed at districts and advanced to regionals

Competed on varsity tennis all four years (grades 9-12), ranking in the team's top five; won district championships in 10th and 11th grade and reached the regional finals as a finalist in 11th grade

Inducted into the Mu Alpha Theta math honor society in 11th grade and served as Vice President in 12th; launched a peer-tutoring program preparing younger students for MATHCOUNTS competition and co-founded the school's competitive math team
