   Competed all four years and served as captain in junior and senior years, training for local and national math competitions; helped organize the school's annual student-run math tournament for middle school students, writing problems and securing sponsors and funding

   Co-founded an all-girls math competition (INTEGIRLS DC) in January of junior year with close friends, leading problem writing for an annual contest serving middle and high school girls across the DC metro region; helped expand the organization toward national competition locations

   Conducted senior research with a UMD mathematics professor across junior and senior years, using computer programming to model conservation laws and partial differential equations

   Played viola for all four years of high school in the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras, attending weekly rehearsals and performing four to five concerts each year

   Founded and taught a weekly Java programming class for local middle school girls at the public library during junior and senior years, writing lesson plans and designing games and demonstrations
